Faculty of Literature and Humanities, the third among the faculties of Persian Gulf University in terms of its date of construction, began its educational activities in the year 1995. In five years, it moved to its new building in 2000, the building constructed with the financial help of the Office of the Supreme Leader and National Credits. The current building of the Faculty of Literature and Humanities has an area of 10,000 square meters. Prior to the construction of the building, this faculty was located in the building, which is now a student dormitory. During the academic years 1398-99, with the establishment of the Faculty of Business and Economics, four disciplines, namely, Accounting, Economics, Business Management, and Industrial Management separated from the Faculty of Literature and Humanities, yet keeping their administrative and organizational departments within the building of the Faculty of Literature and Humanities until the opening of their new building on the south side of the university. The Faculty of Literature and Humanities, after the separation of the Faculty of Business, has more than 1,500 students in different undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs. The faculty also has 50 full-time professors.
